LEEDS PRINTS
SEASCAPE PRINTS
I am lucky to have visited quite a few countries, but mainly have holidayed in this country when I was a kid and now as a parent, the U.K has some amazing coastlines - the places I have visited and taken photographs are from the Welsh coastline of Pembrokeshire and Anglesey up to Northumberland and more recently to Norfolk - each coast has something different to offer and probably one of my favourite subjects to capture - I hope that comes across in my photography.
MUSIC PRINTS
My main two passions in life are music and photography, I am at my happiest when I get to combine the two. I enjoy going to lots of gigs and Leeds boasts the best venues from small intimate venues like the Brudenell, through to the 13500 capacity First direct arena, both attracts awesome bands . My guitar teacher has a lot of vintage amps and guitars, which I have been lucky enough to photograph.
RETRO PRINTS
The image that sparked my interest in Retro photography was the one I took of the bikes in Kettlewell in Skipton, we were just there with the kids to go to a scarecrow festival, on the way up to the high street there is this awesome garage which looks like it belongs to a time a few decades ago.

I love black and whitre photography and the medium I started in was Darkroom photography, the monochrome brings out the details sometimes lost in colour images and the Retro style images are definitely better suited to black and white.

I am 44 and live in Leeds with my wife and two children and I have been studying photography on and off for the past 18 years. I first realised my passion for photography, when I started evening classes at Park Lane College in Horsforth, this was where I first processed black and white film and where I produced my first black and white prints. I will always remember my first print, putting a sheet of photographic paper into a tray of chemicals and the image I had imprinted onto the paper using an enlarger, turned this blank piece of paper into an image I had taken - I was hooked!
My main intention is to take images with a different perspective, to make them as original as I can, so I use various filters, flashguns, fisheye lenses and use long shutter speed timings to create motion blur.
I take my camera everywhere and do not stick to set subjects - I take photos of what I like, whether its by the sea, in the city, in the countryside, at a gig ………
I use quality textured etched paper to give a textured feel, whilst not losing the detail of the image and this gives an added dimension to my prints.
I have my work on sale at 18 different outlets in Yorkshire including Fabrication in Leeds city centre, Harlow Carr, Castle Howard, Jumbo records.
